The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis of the problem of the development of media education in Ukraine. It is determined that the increased interest in issues of media pedagogy gives grounds for optimism about the future, especially since recently in Ukraine the theoretical provisions of media education have been persistently implemented. The development of media education continues despite martial law in the country. It is emphasized that media literacy is an understanding of the essence and fundamental principles of media education, mastery of information technologies, the development of the ability to analyze and evaluate information content, as well as the ability to consciously use this information. At the same time, it is defined as the ability to find specific information in the media, critically evaluate it, assess its reliability and, if necessary, create your own media texts. The most vulnerable categories that “need protection” in the field of media education are analyzed, and how media education can mitigate the negative impact on them. Aspects of the important role of the lecturers in this issue are also considered. The inclusion of elements of media education in the educational process helps students develop the ability not only to find information in various sources, to systematize it according to certain, predetermined criteria and to determine the main thing in information messages, but also to independently transform and interpret information, understanding its essence, purpose and purpose. It is concluded that having received knowledge of media education, modern and future Ukrainian specialists in this field will be able to more effectively improve their theoretical concepts, methodological solutions, practical activities in educational institutions, universities, institutions of extracurricular education and cultural centers. This will create a solid foundation for further scientific research in the field of media education development in Ukraine. |
