dc.description.abstract	В статі висвітлено етапи виникнення та розвитку категорії «гендер»; представлено еволюцію поняття в історичному розрізі; проаналізовано особливості розкриття поняття в аспекті різних наук. Розкрито поняття «гендеру» та супутніх йому понять, таких як мовний сексизм, гендерні стереотипи, тендерна асиметрія мови. Встановлено, що гендерна система є фактично системою влади та домінування у суспільстві. У статі розглянуто також лінгвістичний аспект вивчення категорії гендер та його вплив на мовну поведінку індивіда. В результаті дослідження з’ясовано, що введення поняття гендеру призвело до подолання концепцій, які розглядали різні статеві риси й ролі як виявлення природних властивостей особистості, а розрізнення понять гендеру та статі ознаменувала новий рівень теоретичного розуміння соціальних процесів; доведено необхідність та актуальність гендерного підходу до мовної рівності через його результативність у тих країнах, де вже здійснилися лінгвістичні реформи.	uk_UA
dc.description.sponsorship	The article highlights the stages of the emergence and development of “gender” category; the evolution of the concept in the historical perspective is also presented; the features of the concept in the aspect of various sciences are analyzed. The concept of “gender” and related concepts such as linguistic sexism, gender stereotypes, gender asymmetry of language are consequently revealed. It has been also established that the gender system is actually a system of power and domination in society. The article also examines the linguistic aspect of the research of “gender” category and its impact on the linguistic behavior of the individual. The necessity and relevance of the gender approach to linguistic equality is proved through its efficiency in those countries where linguistic reforms have already been implemented. The research has revealed that since the 1960s the concept of “gender” has become one of the main tasks of gender studies in the field of sociology, psychology, political science, philosophy and other disciplines. Gender is considered as a great complex of social and psychological processes as well as cultural guidelines which have been inspired by society and influence the behavior of the national linguistic personality. The study has revealed that the introduction of the concept of “gender” led to overcoming the concepts which considered different sexual features and roles as the identification of the inherited characteristics of the individual, and the distinction between gender and sex concepts marked a new level of theoretical understanding of social processes.	uk_UA
